COMEDY NIGHT w/ 3 Stand Up Comics!

September 20, 2018 @ 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

It’s STAND UP COMEDY NIGHT at the Uptown Art House!  Featuring three of Austin’s best and funniest comedians:  CHRIS TELLEZ, JASMINE ELLIS and BRETT VERVOORT.  Showtime is 8pm-10pm – Admission is $10 at the door.  Come join us for a hilarious night of comedy!

CHRIS TELLEZ is a staple of the Austin comedy scene, a true storyteller whose dark, dry wit has captivated crowds of all sizes. He has been featured on comedy festivals including Moontower, Oddball Comedy Festival, Fun Fun Fun Fest and is the host of the “Why Should We Care?” Podcast. Tellez’s wild stand up show Shit’s Golden has featured the best local and touring comics for over six years.  Chris is well known for his storytelling style that has garnered the attention of comedy audiences and club owners alike. He also consistently performs on popular Austin showcases and has earned opportunities to work with standout headliners like Baron Vaughn and Kyle Kinane.  Simply put. Chris is hugely funny and sick! & you should check him out.

JASMINE ELLIS’s standup has been described as “energetic” and “joyfully neurotic,” and she’s pretty sure that was a compliment. After hosting local radio shows in college and interviewing comedians, she decided to try it herself in 2013 and hasn’t looked back. Jasmine had performed in Las Vegas, New York, and LA, and earned spots on several festivals, including Out of Bounds Fest in Austin, and and Blue Whale Comedy In Tulsa.  She’s performed in comedy clubs, colleges, and good old fashioned dive bars across her native Texas. In 2018 she landed a coveted spot on the  Moontower Comedy festivals local showcase which profiles Austin’s top up and coming comedians. Jasmine has also been a finalist in the Austin’s Funniest Person competition!

BRETT VERVOORT has always been a weird theatre kid with a quick wit, entertaining audiences in one fashion or another for over ten years. Comedian, writer, and improviser, Brett has performed at venues such as CapCity Comedy Club, Velveeta Room, and the Houston’s the Secret Group. Smart, bubbly, with a dark edge she found her voice in Austin, Texas and has been fortunate to produce sold-out experimental sketch shows with her improv/ sketch group “EGGS.”
